Welcome

The Maple Ridge – Pitt Meadows Ҵý District (SD42) is exploring potential secondary school schedule changes informed by feedback from staff, student, and families.

Currently, all SD42 secondary schools follow a linear schedule, with students taking up to eight classes across the full school year. Moving forward, some schools may continue with this model, while others may transition to a semester schedule, where students take up to four classes per semester, with two semesters in a school year.

Decisions about schedule models will be made on a school-by-school basis, informed by survey input and guiding considerations. You can learn more about the engagement framework and see a comparison of linear and semester schedules at: sd42.ca/secondary-scheduling-engagement

Any approved changes would begin in the 2026/27 school year.
